| Purpose: |
This project will increase the capacity of women with disabilities to function independently, safely and effectively within the London community. Information and tools will enable these women to gain the self-confidence to address key issues or barriers that impact directly on the quality of their lives, particularly in the areas of health and wellness, safety, daily activities and community involvement. Various venues will be used to achieve self-direction and personal development, such as workshops, guest speakers, site visits, support from peers, and one-to-one counselling. Discussion topics will explore the rights of persons living with a disability, navigation of the health care "systems", financial issues, violence prevention and personal planning. |
