| Purpose: |
The pilot project will test a newly designed e-Services program that facilitates immediate and interactive communication between an e-Counsellor and abused women to provide non-crisis support including a safety assessment and appropriate advice and references by the e-Counsellor. Online Counselling for Abused Women is a progressive technology project to increase access to safe and secure online counselling for women. The project is an expanded pilot project that will test the e-Service through computers in shelters across the country and provide training to shelter staff so they can assist the women in accessing the service. 12 provincial/territorial shelter associations will participate in a selection process to ensure broad representation from diverse populations of women. Shelternet will work with Francophone from Quebec and outside Quebec; Aboriginal, Immigrant/Refugee; Disabled, Deaf, Northern, Remote and Rural women organizations. |
