| Purpose: |
The primary objective of the Ojistoh House Multi Year Support Project 12 Seasons to Independence is to offer disadvantaged Aboriginal Women with children who are homeless or at risk of being homeless with multi-year supports that immediately address the root causes. Many Aboriginal women struggle to move toward independence due to multiple stresses in their lives. The project goal is to develop a web model of supports, resources and networks to women by creating a unique culturally sensitive residential and outreach program within the community that will bring disadvantaged women from a place of economic, social and cultural deprivation to a place of confidence, strength and independence. Working in collaboration with other community and regional services, the in-house and community support team will work with women from the beginning of Phase I through to the completion of Phase III to ensure their economic, social and cultural independence and success. |
