| Purpose: |
The West Central Women's Resource Centre will assist and support women in gaining access to services to address issues of economic security and housing, as well as the violence and parenting issues that they face. The Centre will establish an information and referral system for existing services, and will encourage women to contribute to the development of new community services to address their needs. Through interactions with a community mentor and with peer mentors, as well as training and skills development, community women will gain the skills and knowledge they need to become self-sufficient in accessing available services. SUPPLEMENT: The proposed supplement to the Women's Economic Security and Housing Project will allow the organization to serve a greater number of women. The number of women receiving services from the project is double the number anticipated. The supplement will cover costs for additional volunteer mentors, bus tickets, supplies, and training for volunteers. |
