| Purpose: |
This 30-month project will allow Sketch to conduct a gender based analysis of the current progressive, arts-based learning and engagement model. This arts based model allows Sketch to act as a first point of contact for extremely marginalized youth; engage homeless youth in activities that ultimately contribute to their ability to leave street life and link them with mainstream service providers.
Developing, implementing, testing and evaluating a gender based analysis of the model will allow Sketch to improve the quality of services they offer to young, homeless women ages 15-29, particularly in terms of violence reduction and prevention. This analysis will examine the intersectionalities between gender, race and socio-economic factors, with a focus on young women who are homeless and immigrant, visible minority, Aboriginal and/or living with a disability. Sketch will create a gender sensitive tool kit for delivery of the Sketch model, arts-based engagement of homeless youth, by partners throughout the country.
