Engaging Youth in Preventing Violence against Women and Girls

Group of youth

A project in B.C. developed an innovative approach to preventing violence against women and girls. Working with teachers and community groups, youth from across the province were able to increase their understanding of issues related to violence against women and girls, which they can use in their own lives and share with their peers and others in their communities. Participants developed and distributed a Resource Toolkit for Youth and Mentors, which continues to support youth violence prevention programs throughout the province.

“I learned so much from the training sessions! I feel more confident now and am able to identify potentially violent situations and either prevent or avoid them.”
