With additional analysis, you will be able to begin to develop mitigation strategies. When
you consider both gender and age differences, you might propose:

  • A marketing program aimed at encouraging 12- to 17-year-olds to participate in team sports, including efforts to reach out to girls in this age group and efforts to identify and mitigate barriers to their participation, and to encourage more gender balance across all sports;
  • Implementing awareness campaigns targeted to much younger children, to help affect changes in attitudes and sports participation in a more transformative way, at a younger age.
