Allison Grafton - Stories - Women's History Month 2014

Allison Grafton - Stories - Women's History Month 2014

I'm President of Rockwood Custom Homes which is
a high end luxury homebuilder in Calgary.
There's no other women really in my industry
that do what I do.
And that was a bit of a hurdle,
not for me but for the other people.
People have to understand that you have to ask for help
when you need it, and carry on with your gut instinct.
Be fearless but be well-prepared
for what you're planning to do.
And don't be afraid of failure, because every time you fail,
you're going to learn so much from that.
Work-life balance is really important.
That doesn't mean you don't work
really, really hard in your family life
and you don't work really, really hard in your work life.
You can work hard in both, but have a really good balance.
