Shannon Rogers - Stories - Women's History Month 2014

I started my career as a corporate lawyer on Bay Street.
I was always interested in the businesses I was working with
and how they were building their business
and what they were doing in the market
and how they were competing.
It was a difficult market with no money.
We literally went without salary for a few years
and on the little-by-little program built up the business,
and today we're in 90 countries.
We service some of the most powerful companies in the world.
We have 5 offices around the world and 350 employees.
I just admire women generally that go into business.
I think anyone who's an entrepreneur,
it's a tough career path to take, but women especially,
because women become entrepreneurs,
I think often we underestimate what we're capable of.
I think you have the passion and the skills to do
what you want to do, and don't let anyone get in your way.
I think women are very intuitive on building a business.
I think they make excellent business people.
My advice to any woman starting a business is to go for it.
