Purpose: The purpose of this project is to make members of the public and decision-makers aware of safety issues affecting women and children. It proposes a strategy and activities aimed at supporting the full and diverse range of women’s efforts to participate effectively in policy development processes that will help reduce violence against women. The project will be implemented using a strategy with a number of aspects: (a) analysis of proposed policies, programs and reforms affecting women victims of violence; (b) co-operation among women with regard to these issues through workshops and round table discussions; (c) development and distribution of public awareness tools; and (d) organization of an awareness program with provincial political decision-makers.
