Recipient Name: COMPAGNIE F, ENTREPRENEURSHIP POUR FEMMES
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Date: 2006-09-22
Value: $40,500.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: The purpose of this project is to identify innovative ways to improve access by immigrant women to entrepreneurship programs. The group plans to attain this purpose by means of three objectives: to improve action by women's organizations and community support with regard to entrepreneurship programs; to inform economic development agencies of the barriers encountered by immigrant women and members of visible minorities with regard to entrepreneurship programs; and to obtain a commitment from these agencies. The group will carry out an action-research project to analyze current barriers encountered by immigrant women in obtaining access to entrepreneurship, set up a co-operation network, and organize a working day bringing together stakeholders from the local, research, and various government communities. Two annual meetings will be held in order to ensure that the recommendations from the working day are put into action and also to evaluate project's results.
