Purpose: Approximately 160 immigrant and visible minority women in Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary and Medicine Hat will develop leadership skills that will assist them in their chosen fields of work and their communities. This pilot project will develop and implement a mentorship program model that provides skills training, peer support and mentoring relationships. This will improve the economic and social prospects of immigrant and visible minority women, thus maximizing their potential to participate in Canadian society.
