Purpose: This 18 month project will assemble Prince Edward Island women who have specific barriers accessing and using government and community programs and services. They will foster and empower rural women by involving them in culturally-appropriate workshops and information sessions on the importance of improving their health, employment, safety, and financial security. Community groups and provincial service providers will partner for transfer of knowledge and best practices to improve their individual client’s access to their services. Women will participate in the development and delivery of culturally appropriate workshops and session to better understand and be able to access the programs and services they need.
