Purpose: The project will work to mobilize diverse populations to develop and implement action strategies using the innovative “Stages of Change” model to end family and community violence against women in Canada. Project Co-ordinators from the Aboriginal, new immigrant and rural communities will receive “Stages of Change” training which they will then share with 10 trainers each. Workshops will enable the women to develop culturally relevant responsive action strategies to reduce violence in their families and communities; training manuals will be developed and shared with other service organizations across Canada.
