Purpose: The Jane Doe Project will facilitate access to justice among women survivors of violence by providing accessible legal education, summary advice and legal support. Women lawyers will provide information, accompaniment and legal advocacy to victims of violence asked to appear as witnesses in criminal proceedings and/or wanting to secure a peace bond. Lawyers will also hold legal clinics in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley offering summary legal advice. Lawyers will deliver workshops tailored to the needs of survivors of violence on: family law, child protection, immigration law and navigating the court system. This same series of workshops will also be delivered to provide training for advocates and service providers working with women.
