Purpose: This 10-month project aims to enhance culturally-competent violence prevention services in St-John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The group will work with 40 immigrant and refugee women victims of violence, and facilitate education sessions to transition house service providers regarding gaps in services currently offered, and the barriers faced by immigrant and refugee women victims of violence. As a result, innovative ways to improve and adapt services will be implemented. Culturally-competent measures and best practices will be shared with all the community groups working in this field.
