Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Table de concertation des groupes de femmes de la Montérégie
Location: Longueuil, Quebec
Date: 2008-10-07
Value: $84,450.00
Type: Contribution
Purpose: The project aims to achieve the socio-economic integration of immigrant women and their participation in the development of Eastern Montérégie. Two objectives have been identified: 1) to improve the safety and economic independence of immigrant women by helping them integrate into the labour market; and 2) to eliminate discrimination against immigrant women by offering services and activities adapted to their needs. To achieve this, a socio-economic profile of immigrant women and the services available to them throughout the territory will be developed. Once this step has been completed, a) increased awareness among the social, community and institutional partners and cooperation with immigrant women will promote the cultural adaptation of socio-economic services, and b) measures by and for immigrant women will provide a range of tools to promote their integration into the labour market. Approximately 500 women will benefit from this project.
Comments: Multi-year project of 2 years (2008-2010)
