Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Date: 2009-01-13
Value: $643,700.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This three-year project will develop custom tools to meet the needs of French-speaking women in Ontario, with respect to economic literacy, social entrepreneurship, community economic development, and the social and solidarity economy. The project will provide women with information and training related to community economic development and the social and solidarity economy, in order for them to acquire enough expertise to start a business. The project has four main phases: the development of training modules, the training of resource personnel (“multipliers”), the education of Franco-Ontarian women, and the creation and implementation of projects and initiatives aimed at community economic development and the social and solidarity economy. In addition, various publications, articles and forums stemming from this initiative will reach thousands of other women in Ontario and across Canada who live in minority communities and who are interested in the project and in increasing the entrepreneurial capabilities of French-speaking women in general.
Comments: Multi-year project of 36 months.
