Purpose: The project aims to reduce the use of date rape drugs in Rivière-du-Loup bars, and thereby, the number of related sexual assaults. Local resources, including community, institutional and business resources, as well as representatives of the population directly impacted by the issue of date rape drug intoxication, will take part in the project. These individuals will be involved through: 1) a series of structured consultations, 2) an awareness campaign, and 3) the development of a local action plan. This plan will seek to promote the use of local resources by victims of date rape drugs. To this end, part of the awareness and activities will aim to inform the public about the community and institutional resources that are available to coach and support victims of involuntary date rape drug intoxication.
