Purpose: The goal of this 30-month project is to support women survivors of violence and senior women to increase their financial literacy skills and improve their economic security through obtaining/maintaining stable housing. The project will target 12 women fleeing domestic violence and increase their financial literacy and leadership skills, and financial goal-setting in order to assist them in gaining affordable housing. Financial literacy training will be provided to 125 senior women in order to assist them through the development of a financial plan that allows them to retain their homes. Finally, the project will work with a small number of these two groups of women to develop mutual solutions to the issue of housing that they both face by exploring alternative housing and living arrangements.
