Purpose: Women who have been marginalized have difficulty integrating into mainstream society and face significant barriers in parenting their children. This project will work with women from the birth of their babies until 13 months post-delivery using a model of group visits. Group activities will be determined by participants. It has been shown that by using this model women develop significant bonds to each other and enhance their general well-being and outcomes. The most significant component of the project will be an early intervention program that seeks to enhance women’s stability and connection within the community as well as improve social skills, attachment, parenting.
