Purpose: Building on existing community services, this project will increase the awareness and skills of women regarding financial literacy and thus, increase women’s financial health and indirectly their physical health, safety, and well-being. The project will have three phases. In Phase 1, women will participate in the development of the financial literacy tools (the collection of data, definition of financial literacy, and preparation of a guide on financial literacy). In Phase 2, targeted financial literacy workshops will be held. In Phase 3, advanced targeted workshops and individual counselling will be provided to participants on topics such as financial planning, investing and business planning, to empower women to become more fully involved in the economic, social and democratic life in their community.
