Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: New Brunswick Women’s Collective (Collectif des femmes du Nouveau-Brunswick)
Location: Moncton, New-Brunswick
Date: 2009-02-09
Value: $200,000.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This 36-month pilot project will focus on employability and on the active and inclusive social involvement of French-speaking women from ethno-cultural communities in the Greater Moncton area. The Collectif des femmes du Nouveau-Brunswick will oversee the project by establishing a working group of employability stakeholders and women seeking to enter the labour market. Together, they will develop and facilitate training and information workshops suited to cultural differences and designed to improve the socio-economic integration skills of 200 women. Two facilitator guides, an information kit for individuals, and an information kit on diversity management and inclusion for staff in government, para-governmental and community organizations will be developed with the participants, and will be used in the 20 scheduled workshops. The pilot project will create favourable conditions with employers, demystify the subject of social isolation, and validate the options and solutions adopted by the group; it will also make it possible for the participants to fully play their role as agents of change in the Greater Moncton area.
Comments: Multi-year project of 36 months.
