Purpose: The purpose of the project is to advance efforts to prevent and eliminate sexual violence against teenage girls, as well as against Aboriginal women in Lac-Saint-Jean. The project, which will revive an exercise started in 2005, will reach 700 girls between 12 and 25 years of age in 11 polyvalentes in the region. It will also provide the opportunity to meet 300 boys and encourage them to take a stand against violence, but most of all to interact more safely and respectfully with girls. The second phase of the project will include information sessions for some 250 Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal girls to provide them will tools that will inform them about sexual violence.
