| Purpose: | This pilot project will facilitate the provision of support groups for women who are caring for children with intellectual/developmental disabilities. It will offer an opportunity for women to learn from each other, develop peer mentoring skills and share best practices. By connecting with other women who share similar experiences as primary caregivers, women will be empowered. Women will experience self- actualization, learn about individual agency, recognize the value/use of information, be mentored and/or supported by other women, and enhance skills related to identifying needs, and visioning/ planning for the future. |
