Purpose: A Woman's Journey will promote awareness of individual rights and opportunities to 40 women living with disabilities so that the women can more effectively meet their needs and participate in the community. The project consists of four, six week sessions. Each session will be open to 10 women with their support workers and will include specific issues of interest to the women, planning information sessions as well as building teamwork skills. Every class will involve writing and journaling to help the women reflect on their learning and experiences. Participants will also be provided the opportunity to share their writing within the classes and have the option of having their writing published in the agency newsletter.
