Purpose: This 36-month project is designed to increase the participation of 80 women in trades and technology training programs and workplaces in Cape Breton, and in so doing, to enhance their economic security and prosperity. Through a mentoring network, 40 female industry workers will partner with unemployed or under-employed women. These women will gain knowledge of this specific labour market and develop personal action plans to secure employment in trades and technology occupations.The project will engage women's organizations, equity groups, employers, educational institutions and governments to develop and implement a gender diversity strategy that will create inclusive and respectful learning and work environments for Cape Breton women.
