Purpose: 170 people (85 community workers/trainers in charge of immigration and integration, and 85 immigrant women) will receive training in gender-based analysis, as well as in leadership and women`s rights in a Canadian setting. Afterwards, the trainers will return to six regions across the province of Quebec (Montréal, Outaouais, Montérégie, Québec, Centre du Québec and Mauricie) to promote the application of this type of analysis in the community organizations that deal with immigration and integration by encouraging participation and leadership by immigrant women. The main activities include seven training sessions in gender-based analysis and seven training sessions in leadership, which will be held in six Quebec regions, as well as a provincial meeting to assess the project and implement a three-year plan for gender-based issues and leadership for the member organizations. These training sessions will be given by the organization’s coordinator and a project officer, both of whom have expertise in gender issues and leadership.
