Purpose: This 36-month project will build on the organizations past success and work directly with 1,800 women who are victims of violence. The province-wide project will facilitate the development and exchange of knowledge and information surrounding domestic violence and empower women who use shelters in Alberta. The organization will develop, implement and analyze Danger Assessment and Domestic Violence Screening Assessment tools; provide support for second-stage shelter service delivery; and coordinate and implement the first annual provincial Promising Practices two-day conference. This project will directly impact women who are accessing emergency shelters and second stage shelters in Alberta by offering them enhanced services and supports.
