|Purpose: ||The Cridge Asset Building Project (CABP) will help women living in Cridge Supportive Transitional Housing to become more financially self-sufficient through a comprehensive program comprising: financial literacy, goal planning around self-sufficiency, and value appreciation through matched savings accounts (Individual Development Account - IDA) and rent escrow. The CABP will be incorporated into the present Cridge Dovetail Services provided to our Cridge Supportive Transitional Housing tenants. These services provide specialized anti-violence counselling and support.
The financial literacy training and goal- planning will be available to all 36 women residing in our housing program. Ten women will be selected using established eligibility criteria, to participate in the value appreciation portion of the proposed program. Each woman will be assisted to identify detailed self-sufficiency goals, and set up IDA accounts. This portion of the proposed program includes support, accountability, 3:1 matched savings and rent escrow.
