|Purpose: ||This 24-month project will respond to the specific needs of women, including Aboriginal and immigrant women, who have experienced abuse as they transition to violence-free lives. Innovative service delivery models and supports will be tested over the course of the project to ensure women using shelters benefit from new approaches and standards. The project will facilitate improvements in services for abused women and results will be shared with organizations working on similar issues across Canada.
This project will test and adapt practices of second stage programs to improve their access to and quality of second stage services. The primary population is Aboriginal, rural and isolated women fleeing abuse in the Sea to Sky Corridor (First Nations communities, Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton BC).
