|Purpose: ||Participants in this 24-month project will develop/adapt innovative participatory approaches to making communities safer for women and girls. A gender-based analysis of programming and planning will assist participants in integrating gender considerations into decision-making processes on the issue of community safety. Working directly with municipal partners and women's organizations, participants will conduct safety audits on issues identified by target groups, such as immigrant women and Aboriginal women. The audits will identify and propose solutions to safety issues facing women and girls in specific communities.
The project targets women and girls in difficult socio economic situations in the Regional County Municipality (RCM) of Mitis.
