Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Skills for Change of Metro Toronto
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Date: 2011-08-02
Value: $389,298.00
Type: Contribution
Purpose: This 36-month project will develop, implement, test and evaluate a gender based approach of the settlement services offered to newcomer women. The organization will conduct a systemic review of their service framework, from intake assessment to discharge. This will inform the creation of more flexible and accommodating programs that address the domestic (violence, conceptions of gender, childcare) and systemic (income, education, access) barriers to participation in mainstream services. These new approaches will be supported through the development of a women specific leadership component that will be shared with other service providers throughout the GTA.
