|Purpose: ||Collaboratively funded by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development and Status of Women Canada, this 18-month project will promote Inuit womens entrepreneurship by establishing an Inuit Woman Business Network to better support Inuit woman micro-entrepreneurs. The project will establish an advisory committee consisting of representatives from organizations with an interest in regional economic development. Partnerships will be established to provide tailored supports for Inuit women in business. The project will also develop communication products and other resources including a toolkit for Inuit women in business and implement a peer mentorship model for women entrepreneurs. During the first year of the project, roundtables will be held to discuss the expansion and extension of services across Inuit regions in the second year of the project.
Status of Women Canada funding will support the creation of the toolkit, the participation of Inuit women entrepreneurs at the roundtables, as well as the evaluation of the overall project.
