Purpose: This 28-month project will target the student population of Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC. The project will work to prevent violence on campus by developing a comprehensive and coordinated approach to safety assessments and planning based on a needs assessment and safety audit. The safety audit will be conducted to ensure that all levels of campus life including the physical environment, policies and practices, social dynamics, programs, services, and resources are examined in light of gender equity principles. Multiple stakeholders will be engaged to implement the recommendations produced from the safety audit and needs assessment.
