Purpose: This 24-month project will engage men and boys in working to end violence against women and girls in London and Saint Thomas, Ontario. Participants aged 12-15 will participate in focus groups to discuss topics related to gender-based violence and bullying. In collaboration with stakeholders, the project will carry out a review of various engagement models to identify promising practices, adapt and pilot an approach within the communities to encourage men and boys in becoming engaged in addressing gender-based violence. Engagement tactics will include social media to enhance awareness of the issue. The project will work with a wide variety of partners including: Thames Valley District School Board; Family and Children's Services of Saint Thomas and Elgin County; and Sexual Assault Centre London.
