Purpose: This 36-month project will engage women and key stakeholders within the agricultural industry to develop and implement strategies for advancing women into leadership positions. Women working in the industry will be consulted to identify their needs and the barriers preventing them from accessing leadership positions. Partners will examine the participation rates of women in management and leadership training programs and on the boards of agricultural businesses and associations, as well as agri-business executive teams. An advisory group of professionals representing key stakeholders will ensure the sustainability of activities by committing to implement strategies supporting improved access to leadership opportunities for women within their organizations.
