Purpose: This 36-month project will work to enhance the economic prosperity of immigrant women by piloting approaches to increase advancement opportunities in the workplace in Calgary, Alberta. The project will identify barriers to career advancement, such as childcare and access to management training, faced by women who work outside of conventional working hours in the food industry. The organization will coordinate action between businesses, service providers, training programs and women, to develop and pilot models to facilitate access to training to increase women’s access to management positions. Through the project, employers will also be engaged to provide additional supervision, training, and mentoring opportunities to support women’s career progression.
