Purpose: This 30-month project will work to improve the economic prosperity of women through the development of a formal mentorship program to assist women in advancing to positions of leadership within the construction sector in the greater metropolitan Montreal area. Existing needs and best practices will be reviewed in order to identify and address specific issues and barriers that women face in advancing into decision-making positions in the sector. In partnership with key players in the industry, a formal, structured mentorship model will be developed and piloted in selected small, medium and large companies within the construction sector in the greater Montreal area. The model will then be incorporated into the organization’s regular operations to ensure the its sustainability and reach across the province.
