Purpose: This 36-month project will work with women at high risk of abuse (immigrant, refugee, Aboriginal, and women with mental health and other cognitive disabilities) in Vancouver, BC, Saint John, NB, Toronto, ON and Regina, SK to identify and address barriers to services. In collaboration with partners, local women will be engaged to identify their needs and priorities, as well as best practices. Through a safety review process, key service providers in each community will examine their practices, procedures, and policies in order to develop a coordinated community response action plan. Tested approaches and models will be shared nationally for replication in other local communities.
