Purpose: This 36-month project will seek to build leadership capacity and create a collaborative process for engagement and action of Labrador Inuit women in five communities in Nunatsiavut. The project will bring Inuit women together to identify priority issues affecting their communities and to increase their skills and knowledge in public and community engagement, political action, and personal awareness. A participatory action model, entitled "Explore, Examine, Empower", will be piloted to encourage Inuit women to consider the systemic nature of the issues affecting their communities, identify actions to address them, and collaborate with partners and stakeholders to implement solutions at the community level.
