Purpose: This 36-month project will support Indigenous women, both on- and off-reserve, in the Atlantic region to engage in meaningful dialogue with their communities and Nations on matters of importance to them. A gender-based analysis will be conducted on issues related to the specific needs of Indigenous women and girls, including governance, leadership, poverty, equity, violence and health care. The organization will work with Indigenous women to develop community specific strategies that will feed into provincial plans and an overarching regional plan to build a strong regional Indigenous women’s voice and create partnerships with provincial and regional stakeholders.
