Purpose: This 36-month project will support Inuit women in taking a leadership role in developing and implementing strategies to address violence against Inuit women and girls in Nunavut. The organization will work with Inuit women, territorial and regional stakeholders to develop a strategy to change community attitudes and encourage action to prevent violence against women and girls in Iqaluit. The strategy, which will include community actions and policy changes, will be integrated into the work of community groups and government agencies. Project results, resources and lessons learned will be shared with other communities in Nunavut and the territorial government.
