Purpose: This 36-month project will focus on improving women’s civic participation in municipal development initiatives in Montréal. It will consult with municipal and community stakeholders, including Montréal’s borough round tables to develop participative government strategies that encourage women’s civic involvement. Needs and barriers will be examined and solutions will be identified and piloted to allow partners to better respond to realities and differences that women face in Montréal. Equitable opportunities will be tested that offer women residents of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to influence urban and local development. Resulting best practices will be shared across the country.
