Purpose: The purpose of this group's project is to reduce sexual conjugal violence against the full and diverse range of French-speaking women and children in Ottawa, by improving access to French-language services provided by organizations serving them. The group's strategy includes: (1) carrying out an awareness process with Ontario Works, the Ottawa Police, and the Children’s Aid Society, using the report on access to French-language services, in order to make these organizations aware of this issue; (2) raising the visibility of these services by designing awareness leaflets and creating solutions that will eliminate barriers to access to these services; and (3) initiating co-operation with the Mouvement ontarien pour les femmes immigrantes francophones (MOFIF), in order to organize a focus group on discrimination experienced by French-speaking racialized women.
