Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: ARISING WOMEN PLACE
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Date: 2007-03-30
Value: $59,892.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: The Arising Women Place (AWP) will engage business women and trainers to conduct a series of workshops to increase low-income women’s opportunities to participate more fully economically. Through workshop and training activities, AWP will enable low-income and survivors of abuse women from francophone and visible minority communities in the Scarborough East area to become self-employed through small-business and entrepreneurship in crafting and catering services. AWP will also introduce young women through lunch and learn sessions to non-traditional, apprenticeship, and business opportunities so that they could plan their economic future more adequately.
