Purpose: The goal of this 12 month project is to gather valuable information about all the programs and services aim towards women needs. Because the web of services is confusing and by not knowing where to turn, many women do not take advantage of the services that currently exist on Prince Edward Island. Women, as caregivers in our society, need assistance when trying to find services for themselves and their families. Women’s Network will identify services and programs, develop tools, train people, facilitate access and evaluate a new “navigation service” as a one-stop help line also call a network of communication services with and for Prince Edward Island women who are confused, confounded, or in crisis mode. The ultimate goal is for all Prince Edward Island women to have a help-line that they can call for friendly, non-judgmental, available and correct information while taking in consideration that their particular reality and needs for community services will be directed to the appropriate provider. An evaluation framework will be developed and participants with the evaluation who will utilize a list of success indicators throughout the process.
