Purpose: This 18 month pilot project will provide support to 300 women experiencing homelessness or women at risk of homelessness. Through the development of a comprehensive and holistic approach to service delivery with access to supportive programming and network for this target group, women will learn leadership skills, strengthen their capacity to gain economic independence, and as a result will increase their likelihood of maintaining safe and affordable housing. The project also contains a public education component and will contribute to an increased societal awareness about the complexity of issues affecting women at risk of homelessness. The project will be shared as a model within other networks addressing the issue of women at risk of homelessness.
