Disclosure of Grant and Contribution Awards

Recipient Name: Fédération des femmes du Québec (FFQ)
Location: Montreal, Quebec
Date: 2008-03-03
Value: $770,000.00
Type: Grant
Purpose: This is a major three-year project of the Fédération des femmes du Québec (FFQ). Its purpose is to help improve the economic security of women, based on their life course. Specific action will be taken focusing on three “key moments” in women’s lives, when they are highly vulnerable economically and face serious challenges: youth, the senior years and the time of migration. The project is therefore aimed at young, senior and immigrant women. These three segments of the female population face attitudes or discrimination based on age and ethno-cultural identity, with attendant impacts on their general economic and living conditions. Bringing together such women based on their life course, providing them with information, raising their awareness and giving them the tools they need to take concrete action in their lives will assist in increasing their economic security.
Comments: Multi-year project of 3 years (2008-2010).
