Purpose: The Canadian Mental Health Association is making an application on behalf of the Sexual Assault Response Committee, a non-incorporated community network of individuals, agencies and organizations working together to address sexual violence issues. The Sexual Assault Response Committee will develop and deliver sexual violence awareness presentations and outreach services to women in southeast Alberta with a view to providing a safe space for women to take steps toward disclosure and healing. Outreach services will include helping women overcome barriers to accessing appropriate services such as protection in a shelter, contacting police and accessing counselling services. The pilot project will test this service delivery strategy and lay the groundwork for future activities.
